Workspace Overview

The Architecture Workspace is the core operational cockpit in Avylo. It provides a persistent, real-time environment where you inspect your architecture model, collaborate with the AI Architect, and manage architectural evolution.

Workspace Layout & Key Surfaces

The workspace is organized into four integrated surfaces:

1. The Interactive Architecture Canvas (Center)

The visual representation of your Canonical Architecture Model.

  • Node Graph: Displays services, databases, queues, storage, and external providers with distinct visual cues.
  • Domain Boundaries: Visually clusters components by business domain.
  • Connection Lines: Represents network protocols, data flows, and dependencies.
  • Interactive Controls: Pan, zoom, fit to screen, and filter views by domain or component type.

2. The AI Architect & Decisions Panel (Left / Drawer)

The reasoning interface where the AI Architect presents:

  • Active Recommendations: Upcoming architecture decisions or optimizations.
  • Open Decisions: Architectural forks awaiting your review.
  • Assumptions: Pending AI inferences you can accept or customize.
  • Proposals & Change Sets: Previews of proposed structural adjustments.

3. Properties & Traceability Inspector (Right)

When you select any component, decision, or capability:

  • Details: Name, type, technology recommendation, and description.
  • Traceability Linkages: Explicit connections showing which requirements and capabilities this component fulfills.
  • Related Decisions: The exact Architecture Decisions that created or modified this component.
  • Health Indicators: Specific health and confidence metrics for this node.

4. Activity Timeline (Bottom / Drawer)

A human-readable, chronological record of every architecture mutation:

  • Decision approvals.
  • Change Set applications.
  • Project Knowledge updates.
  • Milestone snapshots.

Replacing Ephemeral Chat

Unlike chatbot interfaces where crucial reasoning is lost in a long scrollable chat transcript, Avylo records all architectural history in the structured Activity Timeline attached directly to your project.
